Wednesdays are my favourite day of the week! 52 Wednesdays is my creative outlet with repurposed, recycled and bespoke pieces, and here I'll show you how you can do it too! So get your creative on, and hopefully you'll get a little inspiration from this D.I.Y blog!

DIY fabric printing
You'll need: fabric, lead pencil, pen, fabric paint and I print out of what you want to write on your fabric
1. With the pencil, draw all over the back of the print out.
2. Put the print-out on your fabric, words facing you, pencil rubbing touching the fabric.
3. With the pen, trace the words firmly so the pencil rubbing transfers onto the fabric.
4. Colour in with fabric paint!
Too easy right? Totes man, totes!
Sorry the pictures are out of order

Too easy bunting!
1. Choose your material
2. Make a template out of cardboard, whatever style bunting you want( you could go crazy creative at this point!)
3. With the material doubled over, with the bit you want to be seen on the inside, draw your template onto the material, then pin it.
4. Cut it out!
5. Sew the triangles together, but not the top edge( so you can flip it inside out)
6. Iron it! (use the template here too to get a good shape)
7. Using some bias binding(bout $2/meter at lincraft) sew the top of the triangles into the bias binding, leaving a gap between triangles if you want.
Done! Don't feel like you have to stick to the rules, coz that's the fun part! Use paper! Or doilies! Or baby clothes!
Whatevs man!
Have funsies my lovelies!!
Love tashface.

Mini chalk boards
All you need is chalk board paint from a hardware shop ($14), and a few things from around the house or down at vinnies which make for creative chalk boards! I went for silver trays.
Then you paint them! About 5 times! That's it!!! Tooooooo easy!
Now... What else can I paint? A plate? A chair? My cat?
Hmmmmm......

Paper flower pom poms.
| Concertina fold the tissue paper. Cut the edges into semi circles. Tie a knot around the middle. |
| Pull the tissue paper out to form the flower. |
I was putting on a baby shower for a friend and made these for decorations. Super easy, super cheap, super effective. Now I'm thinking of adding a few orange ones and hanging them over my bed to form a floating headboard. Funsies!!

Vintage shabby chic chair! Oh yeah!
There is also a brand spankin new facebook page to view all the projects in their instagramness, but here is where you will find out the juicy goings on and how to of all the projects! (double woot!)
So here is my latest project: (you can buy this on saturday if you want)
Before shot:
Picked this little baby up from vinnies! Old and forgotten, she has seen better days. Poor little wee thing. But....!
After shot: A lick or 4 of white paint, some spray laquer, some hessian and every girls best friend -a staple gun-, and boom! A vintage shabby chic chair. Perfect for a sunlit corner of your house (just perhaps wear pants when you sit on it!) Todays' top tip: wear pants!

Topographical Table
Well now you can find out where all these places are, and more, whilst you sip on a cuppa tea at your very own map lamp table! Practical and educational! Amazing yes? Yes...?
So get yourself a little table and, wait for it... paint it white!
Scuff it up a bit, with sand paper, a bit of chain, drag it behind your car (parental supervision may be required).
Using a whole lotta glue, grab a map, and stick it on top, then laquer it to make it look a bit vintagey.
This one here turned topographical as the paper was quite thin and crinkled a bit, but my motto is "go with it!" That's how each piece gets it flavour! Go with the mistakes and use them to create! Now go go go!!

You've Got Mail!
Step 1) Find a bedside table! Preferably a really hideous one from the side of the road. One that no matter what you do to it, it will be an improvement! And perhaps one that inspires you to sing "U-G-L-Y you ain't got no alibi"... no? (Don’t deny it, you know the song I mean!)
Step 2) If you know anything about me by now, you know what this step is: Paint it white!!
Step 3) Go kerazy! Go get your creative on and pimp it out! Eg: hot glue hessian onto a drawer, find awesome paper(like old envelopes from France, or music sheets or vintage magazines..) to glue onto the top (use LOTS of wood glue, soak the paper in glue!), and lastly put on an awesome draw handle (this one is from a little shop/cafe in Dee Why called "Favourite Things" good coffee, good knick knacks!
Step 4) Lacquer the heck out of it! Spray, brush, matte or gloss! Whatever you want! Too easy!!
PS. This bedside table will soon be up for sale! I’ll put up some deets bout that soon!
The beginning.
The beginning.
In starting this blog I don't presume to have anything of grand importance to say or anything noteworthy to jot down, but I'll give it a shot.
Hello, I'm Tash and I save lives.
Welcome to 52 wednesdays. This is my online portfolio of projects of all different kinds, from kids toys, to pretty dresses to one of a kind furniture and whatever else takes me fancy.
Now I love being a nurse ( why else would I work on a daily basis with 5 different types of bodily fluids) but my soul desired a creative outlet. Thanks to my obliging employer, Wednesdays are my absolute new favourite day of the week, my day to do all things creative. Combining my love of alan keys and flat packs, painting anything that could hold a coat of paint or three and trying anything at least once with my love of the beach and anything white (except for white couches, seriously just say no) brought forth 52 wednesdays.
So take a meander around here and there and don't forget to keep checking back for more projects in case you find something you like. My aim is to make most new projects available for purchase through ebay.
